- high speed and ease of installation. Lack of debris and waste. There is no need to remove furniture from the room;
- the material is non-toxic and not susceptible to dirt and mold;
- additional sound insulation;
- high strength and resistance to destruction;
- convenience of hiding electrical wiring and other communications;
- high elasticity, which allows you to withstand even a large volume of water spilled by neighbors from above. In this case, after its descent, the canvas will straighten again;
- low cost of standard types of stretch ceilings.
In addition to all this, when installing stretch ceilings, a huge number of design possibilities arise using lighting fixtures.
Unfortunately, this type of ceiling has very significant disadvantages:
- intolerance to low (below 5 degrees) temperatures. It is unacceptable to leave the house in an unheated state in winter, as the film will crack;
- the power of the lamps installed in the PVC ceiling is limited;
- possible sagging in large areas.
Useful advice! To avoid many disadvantages, you should choose seamless stretch ceilings. They have a more presentable appearance and are more reliable than ceilings with hidden seams. The price of such canvases is slightly higher.

It should be remembered that the work must be carried out by a person who is versed in the installation of suspension systems, and better with experience in these works.
- the first stage is the preparation of the premises. The furniture is moved to the center to release the walls. The hammer drill must be equipped with a dust collector. Otherwise, you need to close everything with a cloth;
- wiring is connected to all future lighting elements and fixed on the ceiling;
- then it is necessary to determine the zero mark. To do this, using a construction or laser level draw a line around the perimeter of all walls 2 cm below the lowest point of the ceiling;
- after that, the frame of the lower level of the ceiling is installed along these lines. If it is aluminum, then holes are drilled in it every 50 cm. If the profile is plastic, then they must be made every 10 cm;
- then the profile is applied to the level line and points are marked for holes on the wall;
- drilling holes in the walls is carried out using hammer drill with 6 mm drill... Chopiks are inserted into them, into which self-tapping screws are screwed holding the frame from the profile. In places provided in advance, the frame is attached to the ceiling hangers;
- the room is heated to a 40-degree temperature using a heat gun or burner and the upper tier of the ceiling is unfolded. It is heated to 60 degrees;
- the canvas is tucked into a profile in one of the corners and snaps onto the harpoon. Then this operation is performed in the opposite corner. Along the entire inner perimeter, the entire ceiling sheet is gradually fastened with harpoons. In this case, its heating is not stopped until it is completely fixed;
- when it cools, the canvas will straighten and stretch, becoming absolutely even;
- the same operation is performed for the lower tier, including the side surfaces;
- then the installation of lighting fixtures and baseboards is carried out.
Useful advice! If the room provides for the installation of ceiling cornices, then their fastening must be provided in advance. They are usually hidden under the lower ceiling level.
- Maintenance of stretch ceilings is very simple. They are antistatic so that dust does not settle on them. If it becomes necessary to wash the canvas, then this can be done with a soft sponge and detergent.
